Somersham Community Shop

Is open from 8am till 6pm Mon-Fri and Saturday mornings from 9am till 1 pm. Shop Number: 01473 833416
They have many staple foods and also local fresh produce, such as milk, eggs, vegetables, bread, and fresh meat, pies, etc. It is run by volunteers, so prices are reasonable. They also offer deliveries to those who cannot come themselves.

Elmsett Post Office Stores ( 01473 658210)
Is open from 7am - 6pm Mon-Fri, till 3:30pm on Sat and 9-12:30pm on Sundays.
The Post Office opening hours will differ and is closed on Sundays.

Alder Carr Farm Shop,Needham Market
sells fruit & vegetables (01449 720820 for details of opening time).

Local Recycling Places

There is a bottle bank at The Limeburners Pub with money raised from this going to the Offton & Willisham village hall. At Somersham there is a bottle bank and a paper bank, whilst at Barking Community Centre there is a bottle, a paper, and a clothing bank.
 
Community Tips are at Stowmarket and Hadleigh and take all waste including Oil and Metal. These sites also sell ‘green' compost that has been re-cycled from items collected by refuse lorries or left at the tip. Height restrictions apply at the entrances to community tips.

Refuse Collection

This is normally TUESDAY in both villages, alternate weeks for recyclables and ordinary waste, Brown Bins on THURSDAY.
Collection is usually one day later following a bank holiday.

Elmsett P.O/ stores sells morning and evening papers and can take orders but does not deliver.

Salt Bins

Salt Bins are provided near Willisham Church, in Tye Lane opposite North Acre, Willisham and at the junction of Ipswich Road turning to Offton (near the Limeburners), by St Mary's Close and Castle Lane, and Lower Coney Grove,Offton . This salt is provided for use on the steeper sections of roads in the vicinity of the bins, particularly before these are gritted and to assist highway use and safety generally.
